About AOJ

How AOJ Began

AOJ began modestly in 2022 when one of the founders, looking to step outside his comfort zone and connect with others who shared his passion for airsoft, attended a few games with a local community. The experience was encouraging enough that he decided to try organizing his own events, despite having no prior experience in event management.

In early 2023, AOJ launched with just 25 members—mostly close friends and acquaintances who were willing to take a chance on something new. The first few events were learning experiences filled with trial and error, from figuring out logistics to understanding what players actually enjoyed. The community’s patience and constructive feedback during these early days proved invaluable.

By 2025, through word-of-mouth and the dedication of its members, AOJ has grown to over 200 registered players, with recent events selling out weeks in advance—something that still surprises and humbles the organizing team.

While AOJ features many standard airsoft game modes that players know and love, the organizers have experimented with creating custom scenarios, developing over 50 different game variations over time. Many of these ideas came from community suggestions and collaborative brainstorming sessions. To support these game modes, the team has applied their technical background to build various props including defusable bombs, countdown timers, domination devices, wireless hacking tools, and code breakers—though admittedly, not every prototype worked perfectly on the first try.

The founders have personally funded the equipment and props, gradually recovering costs through event ticket sales. Rather than treating AOJ as a business venture, they’ve chosen to keep it as a passion project, which means considerable personal time goes into planning events, maintaining equipment, managing the website and social media, and creating new game concepts—though they readily admit there’s always more to learn about community management and event organization.

Building a Thriving Airsoft Community at AOJ

Forget Red vs. Yellow – We use Teams

We tend to avoid using tape and arm bands and instead allocate teams based on their clothing. This is where we bring in the use of our two primary teams Task Force and Black Talon.

Taskforce Onyx

Taskforce are the heroes of the field. They communicate well, follow tactics, honor and pride in their duties.

Meet Bee-tan

The bee was chosen as the motif for AOJ because it reflects both the tactical precision of airsoft and the spirit of community that defines our team.

Across cultures, bees symbolize teamwork, discipline, communication, and dedication to shared goals. Just as every bee contributes to the strength of the hive, every player’s individual skills play an essential role in achieving success on the field.

The qualities of hard work, adaptability, and unity embodied by the bee mirror the values at the heart of our airsoft community.
