February 2025 at Cimax Recap

Thank You, AOJ Members!

A massive thank you to everyone who joined yesterday’s airsoft battle! The field’s unexpected layout—with its hills and craters—forced us to rethink strategies on the fly. Adapting on the day isn’t easy, but this group rose to the challenge!

Shoutouts for Quick Thinking

Black: When the original game modes clashed with the terrain, he proposed excellent changes to game operations. His calm leadership kept squads focused and briefings smooth and clear for members to follow.

Defrowe: His creativity saved the day! He redesigned objectives to leverage the field’s quirks, such as changing the layouts of objectives to match the difficult terrain. He kept people actively engaged in combat. His tactical advice helped his teams flank the opposition.

Behind-the-Scenes Heroes

Thank you to everyone that came and made the event smooth and helped with cleaning up.

Also a special thanks to:

  • Alvaro: Stepped up again. I casually saw him preparing the whiteboard, getting people moving, taking lead in games I was not able to join.
  • Tim: Masterminded the pickup/drop-off schedule, even rerouting last-minute requests without a hitch. His organizational skills are the glue holding the pickups we are not there for together.

These efforts don’t just make events run smoothly—they reveal the dedication and ingenuity that’s propelling AOJ beyond my expectations.

The album is all uploaded, so share with your friends and family!

Special thanks to Mirage for taking over 200 photos of games for our members!

Post-Game Recovery

To those nursing sore calves/knees: I’m right there with you! That jagged terrain was essentially a 6-hour “lunge marathon.” For me, I consider it revenge for skipping leg day last week. Hydrate, stretch, and ice those joints—we’ve got more battles ahead!
